A government site the communications staff can run without a developer
The situation before
A provincial agency site needs to publish notices, agendas and downloadable documents frequently. When every publication routes through an external party, urgent information reaches the public late.
Changes in officials also tend to take site access and operating knowledge with them, leaving the next person locked out of their own platform.
What we built
We built on WordPress specifically because its panel is the easiest thing to hand between staff without lengthy training.
The category structure follows the kinds of information the agency actually publishes rather than whatever a theme shipped with, and operating documentation was written and handed over so the knowledge does not sit with one person.

- Notices and agendas published directly by agency staff

- Written handover documentation so access survives a staff change
