A store built to recruit resellers rather than only to sell
The situation before
Sales ran through a reseller network recruited one at a time over private chat. Every prospective reseller asked the same three things: the wholesale price, the minimum order, and how to place one.
Answering identical questions repeatedly consumed exactly the time that should have gone into growing the network.
What we built
We built a store with two pricing tiers: open retail pricing, and reseller pricing revealed after signing in.
Everything previously answered by hand moved onto pages people read themselves, so a conversation with a prospective reseller now starts from a much later point. Product pages were structured for search so prospects find the store without an introduction.
What was handed over
- Retail and reseller pricing separated automatically at sign in
- Repeat questions answered on the page rather than in chat
- Product pages discoverable through search
