Profit and loss, balance sheet and vessel tracking on one dashboard
The situation before
The company ran two related jobs recorded separately. Finance assembled profit and loss statements and balance sheets in spreadsheets, while operations tracked vessel position through word from the field.
A simple question such as how much one voyage earned could only be answered weeks after the ship had docked, long after the decision it should have informed.
What we built
We brought both onto one subscription dashboard. Operational and financial data enter the same database, so the profit and loss statement, the balance sheet and the tracking view all read from an identical source.
Reports stopped being rebuilt monthly and started assembling themselves. Spreadsheet export stayed, because audit requirements do not disappear just because the system improved.
